Davey & Co started selling
ship's equipment in London's East India docks in 1885. The lighting
division continues to make a unique collection of lamps for
specific interior and exterior functions, never throwing out
an old design and slowly adding to their range.
Their 1930s Bus and Coach lights, Marine Mastlights and Decklights
are little triumphs of functional British design. Though shipbuilding
requirements have moved on, Davey's lights are now highly prized
by architects and designers.
