The great Ingo Maurer is a delightfully human giant of design. His first lamp, designed in 1966, was the iconic 'Bulb'. His Porca Miseria!, more a burst of fury than a chandelier, is an explosion of broken dishes.

In 2001 Maurer opened a store in New York. He has collaborated with fashion designer Issey Miyake and with his friend Ron Arad and has said that he likes to dance Salsa.
