LE KLINT

P.V. Jersen Klint was a Danish architect who, when designing a lamp, fashioned the lampshade out of folded paper. In 1943 his son Tage put the lampshade into production, and designed the modern classic Fruit Lantern in 1944.

Tage's son Jan took over the company in 1953, with a business model just as revolutionary as the lampshades themselves. The pleaters, who make each lampshade by hand, have never been replaced by machines.
