LUMINA
In a basement in
1973 Tommaso Cimini designed Lumina’s first light- the
Daphine halogen desk light, conceived as ‘a small lamp
for a lot of light’. Initially all pieces were produced
by hand by two employees.
As Lumina grew, designers Emanuele Ricci, Walter Monici, Yaacov
Kaufman and Riccardo Blumer enlarged the catalogue with lights
dressed with nothing more than is necessary. Now with two subsidiary
companies in Germany and Switzerland, Lumina’s early designs
have an authentic retro charm, and Lumina continues to stand
for quality and integrity. Their lights are displayed in the
Musee des Arts Deco in Paris, and the Brooklyn Museum, New York,
among others.
