Friday fun: Karl Lagerfeld's film, The Tale of a Fairy

Chanel Tale of a Fairy still If you are Karl Lagerfeld, the King of Cool, you must get as distressed as we all do by the lack of style and ugly people, well, almost everywhere really. So if you got the chance to create a microcosm of a perfect world, you would wouldn't you.

Here is a film that he wrote and directed to launch his 2011 cruise collection for Chanel. In spite of the white triangle, the image above is a still. Click below to watch the film...

It lasts 25 minutes, so it's fun for the weekend rather than in the office....

It was shown in May at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d'Antibes and features such friends of Chanel as Anna Mouglalis (Chanel ambassador), Amanda Harlech (a Somervillian and Karl Lagerfeld's muse), Kristen McMenamy, Freja Beha, Bianca Balti, Baptiste Giabiconi, Brad Kroenig, Jake Davies, Mark Vanderloo and Elcacho Oriol.

According to Lagerfeld himself, " is a film about the misuse of money, which begins in violence and ends in feelings".
