Two films, two groups of artists, two media, two continents -- but both are modelling the energy of the city. Chris Burden's Metroplis II, is currently on show at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It has been four years in the making and has over 1,000 cars. It is not a model of a city, it is a way of expressing the city's movement, its energy. It's also great fun -- memserizing!

Meanwhile, the Tel Aviv artists Efim Graboy + Daria Turetski were spending five days and two nights taking 25,000 images of Kiev which then were edited, over several months, to create this piece. They achieved the toy-like effect by using tilt-shift photography, that gives a very short depth of focus.
