We liked these lights, Cala from Marset, when we were introduced to them at Light+Building. They look slightly odd at first. Then you realise that these outdoor floor lights are referencing wooden deck chair frames. Here they are using iroko:
or outdoor metal café tables when they are made of metal:
There is even that rarest of beasts -- an outdoor pendant light that is not a lantern!
The rotary moulded polyethylene shade is enclosed in a zipped Textilene sleeve which "...filters the light and gives it a texture rich in nuances."
They are bang on trend, being indoor-type lights that can be used outdoors (something of a specialization of Marset's). Appropriately, therefore, there is an indoor version of the pendant, and also of the wooden floor light, in two sizes:
so you could use this design indoors and echo the arrangement outdoors.
